2 Weeks

Our sweet Evelyn is 2 weeks old today. She's growing too fast!! It's hard to believe that it's only been (and already been) two weeks since we first laid eyes on her.

I've learned a lot in the past two weeks. I've learned that there are a lot of things I can do with only one hand. I've learned that I can actually function pretty well with a few hours of sleep most nights. I've learned that eating a meal in one attempt is now a luxury. I've learned that I completely underestimated the number of diapers a baby can go through in a day.

More importantly, I've learned that it is impossible to know the love you have for your child until you experience it. I've learned a love that is unlike any I've ever experienced before. My heart melts when my sweet girl grabs my finger and holds on while she nurses. My heart feels like it's being ripped out when she's screaming and I don't know what's wrong with her. My heart rejoices when she finally lets out a Daddy-sized burp and instantly stops screaming.

I've learned a love for my husband deeper than the love I've had for him before. There's something about seeing your best friend and companion look at his daughter for the first time with the most endearing look on his face. I've learned there are no words to express how I feel when he's up with me in the middle of the night to offer encouragement and get me whatever I need. I've learned that I have the best husband in the world and there's no arguing about it.

Best post ever. It's always so hard to put those things into words.

sweet sweet sweet! It is truly remarkable how instantaneous the love for your child is. Plus it helps she's the cutest little strawberry blondie I've ever seen! :)
